OUR FUNDING: CURRENT AND FUTURE
In the two and a half years since it was founded, the CT Foundation has undertaken several activities to further its goals. It began by engaging with policymakers, intellectuals and the media in Dhaka on the three planks for sustainable economic growth—Compact Townships, rice exports and shares in land values. Then it branched out into the countryside to gauge the pulse of the public and to encourage them to take active steps to enable cooperative and coordinated solutions to the visible problems of unplanned housing, loss of agricultural lands, urban disorder and increasing rural-urban disparity. The response has been enormously positive. Virtually the unanimous cry has been, ‘show us a model so we can know how this will work’. We are now planning to provide site specific details for Compact Townships in two or three suitable locations, with help from students in the Urban and Regional Planning Departments of Bangladesh. Documentation for all the above can be found on the website.
The CT Foundation has been funded entirely by an individual till now. While these funds are sufficient for another twelve to eighteen months, we can foresee the end. This is the right time to start looking for overseas donors. At this point in time, there is no need to send any money, we just want to get a feel for the amounts people may be willing to donate to further the activities of the CT foundation.
Please send an email with an expression of interest to ct@ctfoundation.org or abuldhaka2009@gmail.com stating the amount you are willing to donate and whether it is expected to be an annual donation or a one- time gift. Once we clear all bureaucratic hurdles we will get in touch with you.
Thanking and looking forward to hearing from all potential contributors
